Moz Khokhar

Born in Pakistan, Moz moved to Barnsley at the age of 16.

Moz gained BA (Hons) in Combined Studies Design from The University of Leeds. He then worked as an assistant to ceramicist, Jim Robison, at his studio in Holmfirth for 9 years. He is currently a ceramics tutor at Barnsley College.

Moz draws inspiration from the rich colours and patterns of South Asian culture. Using techniques of extrusion, throwing, coiling and slab building, he produces decorative functional and non-functional ceramics. Decorations consist of slip decorations and glazes. He experiments with different techniques to achieve the desired results.

Moz creates his work from his studio in South Yorkshire and exhibits throughout the North. In 2016, he was delighted to be selected to show at the prestigious Earth and Fire International Ceramics Fair, Rufford, as a Newcomer.
