Originally from Dewsbury, Terence had a career in engineering all his working life before completing a BA (Hons) in Fine Art at Leeds College of Art and Design in 2016.
His practise covers a wide range of disciplines from collagraph printing to etching but his interest predominantly lies in sculpture.
The process of carving is to me a meditative experience and my work is trying to relate life experience with signifiers in the work, either personal or otherwise, and is an attempt to convey the intangible sense of being a kind of other worldliness.
His sculptures are made in wood, found objects, natural material, resin, metal, stone and plaster usually on wire armatures, to be later cast in bronze. Terence is eager to explore the possibility of combining metal with carved stone in some form, as the juxtaposition of the texture and colour creates an interesting combination.
Terence has exhibited in graduate shows in New York, London and Kings Lynn and across Yorkshire.
