The first solo show to be held at Silson Contemporary – ‘Land and Light’, featuring 12 beautiful paintings from the highly talented Laura Brown (Eva Ray Studio).

Laura had a small number of paintings here in the summer and they sold out almost immediately.  The combination of her use of oil sticks and her skilled capturing of garden landscapes and botanicals create highly distinctive and beautiful paintings that have won her a growing number of admirers and collectors.

I am delighted to be showing this collection of botanical and summer landscape studies in my first solo show with Silson Contemporary.

Capturing the land and light in oil sticks on wood panels and inspired by the gardens of Scotney Castle, Doddington Place and Mount Ephraim Gardens, Kent, I explores summer colours and landscapes in bloom.  The use of oil sticks helps bring alive the movement of the gardens and wild botanical studies
