Katie graduated in 2016 from Winchester School of Art with a BA in Illustration, followed by an MA in Ceramics at Bath Spa University, graduating in 2020. She is a London-based artist known for her colourful, playful ceramic sculptures.
With a background in illustration and an interest in observing the world around her, she creates hand-built clay works that blur the lines between object and environment. Often referring to her pieces as ‘props,’ Katie draws on the language of theatre, setting her sculptures within vividly painted backdrops that evoke imagined landscapes.
Her work explores texture, form, and colour through an ongoing process of experimentation with slips and glazes.
Working from her East London studio, Katie has exhibited in London, the South of England and Los Angeles
When not in her studio, she teaches ceramics, sharing her practice with others.
